Fun Visitor!

This past week we had a visit from Nana Suzanna! We crossed our fingers that we would have some nice weather...but we had some true NW spring weather...cool and wet. But the guys being native Oregonians and all are not affected much by the rain. They like it because it makes great puddles!
Here they are showing Nana how they move around rocks and dig in the dirt with their shovels.

Their big tiger comes 'alive' when Nana is around and they were having so much fun giving the tiger hugs!

Dylan sat down next to Nana and was talking to her about eating oatmeal for breakfast and how yummy it is...

...then Dylan pointed out the good articles in the paper that she shouldn't miss!
Then they both sat down for some good old story time!

Thanks for the visit Nana and we can't wait for you to come back!

Boy Pile!

Mama caught the guys wrestling around on the floor and having fun...during it all Cole was able to continue scrubbing the floor with his favorite scrub brush!

Hot, Hot, Hot!

This past weekend was warm and on Saturday reached 80! We all had a great time working in the yard and spending as much time outside as possible.

One of Cole's favorite things to do outside is to play with this bucket of rocks. He meticulously distributes the rocks to other buckets, lids, planters, water bottles, and occasionally screams with joy as he just throws them on the ground.

After Dylan got tired of playing with rocks he moved onto picking the flowers we just planted...good thing there were so many to start with!

Later the guys moved to the lawnmower. I don't think think they have ever seen anyone start a lawnmower and yet what is the first thing they both do when they walk up to it? Pull the starter pull cord thing!

On Saturday, while it got up to 80 degrees, we decided it was due time to have some water play. So we got out our buckets, funnels, cups, and sponges. This is Cole's "I'm squeezing the sponge really, really hard" face.

Dylan is so good at doing 'jobs' like watering the plants. We'll have to come up with more jobs to have them do around the house!

After such a wonderfully beautiful and warm weekend we started the week with partly cloudy skies with a chance of rain. At dinner time it was sunny and pleasant so we decided to dine al fresco. I went back into the kitchen for a minute and all of a sudden heard the boys starting to yelp and screech and looked out to see it raining on them! I moved the sun umbrella over them and they LOVED finishing dinner under the rain.

It's Potty Time!

The boys have been VERY interested in the toilet lately...so we got them their very own potties.

Here the boys are enjoying a little sit down and a story.

At times they are much more interested in the story or toy than what they 'should' be 'doing' while sitting on the potty. But at this point we are focusing on getting them used to the idea of a potty. Dylan ends up sitting for longer periods of time, while Cole is usually too excited about everything else in the bathroom and doesn't sit for long but ends up taking care of 'business' in the potty more often.

Cole is very serious about making sure Daddy does the proper animal sounds that go along with the 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you See' book...while Dylan notices Mama is taking his picture so of course he has to smile at the camera!
