One Sunny Day

We lucked out and had a sunny Saturday! It rained all week and looks like it will be raining all next week too...so we took advantage of the nice weather! Dylan is all about his accessories as you will see throughout the day.
For some reason they are obsessed with wearing bike helmets right now.

A neighbor was cutting down a tree and Rob asked the workmen to deliver the chips in our driveway. Where are we going to put all those wood chips?? The boys love helping load the chips in the wheelbarrow.
They were steamy hot! The chips that is.
Taking the heavy loads to the back yard.

During lunch Dylan changed up his accessories and serenaded us.
A quick pose before loading in the car to head to...
the coast for the afternoon! It was so nice out there we spent the whole afternoon playing on the beach. We originally went to go inside the lighthouse that you can see in the background...but who knew there was a height limit on who can go up the stairs to the top?? But we lucked out and hit low tide and spent all afternoon checking out some great tide pools and large rocks.
The boys were really excited to rock climb with Daddy.

80's Dance Party

The boys love to turn the stereo up loud and dance. Sometimes we feel like we already have teenagers in the house because Rob and I are always saying "turn down the music!" and the boys are always saying "turn up the music, we like it loud!"
To share the joy of watching the boys dance, we would like to present Cyndi Lauper's newest dance team...

Garden Work

We had lovely weekend weather so decided to take advantage and worked in the yard Saturday and Sunday. The boys were very excited to help unload the truck full of compost that Daddy drove into the back yard.
They were also more than happy to help plant 4 new blueberry bushes...since they LOVE blueberries! But is it so hard to wait all the way to July and August to eat them!!
The boys actually were a big help and did a lot of the unloading of compost!
We sang the plants a berry song so we would get a bumper crop. We also created several new garden beds for our newly divided raspberries and strawberries plants. This summer is going to be GOOD!

The boys can go from being so very helpful one minute and not so much the next. The before picture of this video is a nice neat pile of straw on a tarp next to the garden. But the boys were so entertained by what they were doing (and cute especially when they both were singing while working...at the beginning of the video they are singing "work it out, work it out...") that we didn't stop them. Later I tried to get them to help put all the hay back into a mountain...but didn't get the same enthusiasm.

Grandpa Charlie & Auntie Lesley Visit

We were so lucky to have Grandpa Charlie and Auntie Lesley drive up from San Francisco this weekend for a visit! We were all very excited.
We lucked out and had fabulous weather on Saturday, so the boys brought out the baseball gear.
Here Dylan is throwing the ball back and forth to Aunt Lesley and Grandpa Charlie. See ball in mid-air...nice form kid.
Grandpa Charlie is helping Dylan learn the subtleties between swinging the bat to hit a ball and slinging the bat like you would to chop wood with an ax. Can you guess Dylan's preference??
We all went to see a woman's OSU basketball game together. Cole picked and carried this daffodil all the way to the stadium to give to Benny the Beaver...the OSU mascot. And as soon as he saw Benny he jumped out of his seat and insisted on going straight over to give him the flower. How sweet!
The boys favorite part was the loud band that played...and the cheerleaders dancing! At one point Dylan got up, went down to the floor and started dancing too!

We all had a great time during your visit...but it was too short!! We can't wait for your next visit!
