Week of Firsts

The past week or so has been full of some fun firsts for the guys...

Dylan got 2 teeth in one week! He did so well with teething, other than the excess drool his demeanor was no different. Cole on the other hand has mastered the fussy, drooling, biting & chewing on everyone and everything (including his favorite...Dylan's toes!)...and still no teeth!

Cole got his first hair cut! This is a before shot...

...and this is an after. It's amazing how much older he looks with the hair cut! We weren't sure how we were going to cut it without him wanting to grab the scissors, so I snuck in behind Rob while he was giving Cole a bath and a few snips later...voila!

Another first is that both boys are giving kisses now. During this bath session Dylan reached over and grabbed Cole and gave him a big kiss! It was soooo cute!

The rest of these pictures are not documenting the boys firsts...but they are so cute, so we are including them in this posting!

Here is a study in their many differences...each one got half a plum at the same time.

Visit from Nana Suzanna

We had a great visit from Nana Suzanna this week. She came all the way from Santa Fe to visit us!

The Nana chew toy. A big hit.

Cole in top form with his shirt on his head, no clothes on, chewing on a nose bulb, standing on tippy toes...all while wearing his crab shoes!

Did we mention the boys are teething? They seem to always have something in their mouths.

Being silly with their Nana!

Dylan is telling a knee slapping funny story to everyone.

Cousins! Cousins! Cousins!

This weekend almost all of the Fiegener cousins got together (we missed you Miss Brooke!). It was quite a fun gathering!

Daddy was reviewing what this whole twin brother thing is all about before everyone came over.

From the right...Paige, Markus, Adam, Amy, Cole, Miles & Dylan.

Cousin Miles was giving Dylan some style advice...and demonstrated by putting his hat on Dylan the 'cool' way.

Cole has got the island style going on!

We can't wait to see you all again!

A Special Red Box

Today we received a special red box from Dylan & Cole's Nana Suzanna! The boys opened the box on the kitchen floor and we spent hours playing with all the goodies. We may just pack it all up tonight and do it all again tomorrow!

Dylan took a special liking to this special item that was intended for his Daddy!

Cole was so excited about the box and the tape on the lid. He kept inspecting it over and over and pointing to the pieces of tape that were hanging over the lip of the lid.
The boys received some very cute shirts to add to their wardrobe, as they are fast growing out of so many clothes.

We were warned about how messy teething biscuits can be...but we had to try some tasty barley molasses ones that Nana sent. AND yes we would have to agree that they are VERY messy. Dylan somehow was able to stay cleaner than Cole, partially because he got tired of it sooner because he couldn't bite it and chew it up...he was too hungry and wanted real food.

Thanks Nana!

A Day at the Beach

Since it was going to be in the 90's at home we decided to pack up the car and head for the coast (it's only about an hour drive but it feels like a big trip for us!). It was the first time the boys experienced the Pacific Ocean. It was an almost perfect Oregon coast day...about 70 degrees and sunny...but VERY windy!

Cole is having fun making his funny faces at Mommy.

Dylan was happy to be held...he was not so crazy about getting sand in between his toes.

Our windblown family!

Dylan and Cole inspecting Daddy's work as he builds them a deck.

"Oh, Dad I think you missed a screw!"
(Who is this curly haired boy?...I think it might be the oatmeal he wiped in it earlier in the day!)

Yesterday I walked in their room to find Cole had pulled himself up on one of their cribs. Yikes!
