Birthday to Birthday

We started out April right by celebrating Grandpa's birthday!

Nothing makes the boys smile like spending time with cake...I mean family!

This is how I like to see my men!

An early morning game of chess.  Dylan didn't even have time to get dressed!  Actually this could have been taken at anytime of the day...since Dylan would prefer to be sans clothing at home if at all possible!

We planned a 3 day trip to Cannon Beach, OR...which couldn't have been a better weekend at the beach in early May!

Blue skies makes us happy folk!

And low tides and good tide-pooling always keeps us entertained for hours!

Who is that BOY?!

Showing off some good finds!

After the first day which was pleasant but a bit windy, it was sunny and about 85+.  This was THE hottest Oregon beach weather we have ever experienced.

Sitting in their big hole.

Too sunny Mom!

The boys LOVED the big tub in the hotel room...so much so that they took 3-4 baths a day while we were there!

From our room...taken by one of the boys.

The boys dug a huge tunnel one day...see Dylan's toes!

And his head!  He was able to crawl through!

Very proud of his tunnel!

Mom celebrated 'not being 40 yet' (not that there is anything wrong with being 40!).  And again we had a lovely sunny and HOT day.  More reason to celebrate with friends.

Kids are super excited because there are three cake options and one was an ice cream cake (thanks Rob!).

A bunch of cuties eating their cake together!

March Happenings

We saw some dry days in March so we ordered two huge mountains of bark mulch and compost for the yard.

Good thing we have two additional helpers to load the wheel barrow!

Between those non-rainy days we spend lots of time with one of the boys favorite pastimes...

Where is Dylan you ask?  Well while Cole was at the table reading, Dylan was comfortably (?) relaxing on the couch reading.

Cole was so proud to write his name in cursive with string in the yard.  Note there is a period at the end too!

Happy boys with Easter baskets filled with goodies.

Treating some post high morning energy from those chocolate bunnies with some reading time in the sun.

Mom explaining the rules of the Easter egg hunt to the kiddos.

Kids checking out their stash.

And checking out what others found as well!  They had fun re-hiding the eggs for each other to find again...just with no treats inside!

We pulled out the real eggs for a traditional egg toss.

Which we got crazy far from our partner since the ground was so soft and squishy...the eggs would drop but never break!

We had so much fun with relay races of many varieties...this was walk and pass the grapefruit to your team!

Yeah for nice days in March!!
