Weekend full of cousins

Over Memorial weekend we got to visit with 4 out of 6 of the guys cousins. The boys loved playing with their big cousins...especially when they made them laugh by being silly!

Here cousins Markus, Adam and Paige all try to fit into the guys caterpillar tunnel...Uncle Danny looks on a bit skeptically.

We inherited this large orange wheelbarrow from Grandpa Fiegener...and it has been tradition to take photos of all the cousins in the wheelbarrow. It's a good thing that there were only 6 cousins instead of 8!

Uncle Danny got bonus points from all the cousins for pushing them around and around the yard!

Thanks for such a fun visit Uncle Danny, Aunt Pernille, Aunt Cindy, and cousins Amy, Paige, Markus and Adam! We miss you already!

Pacific Ocean

Friday was predicted to reach record high temperatures here in Western Oregon. So the guys and our Friday playgroup headed out to the coast to cool off. Little did we know that the coastal town of Newport hit a very unusual high of 101. So much for finding a cool spot! But all the guys enjoyed themselves despite the heat.

Cole is wanting me to brush the sand off of his tongue.

Dylan is taking a little digging time.

Cole is exclaiming and pointing out the large waves crashing on the beach. The whole time we were at the beach Cole was so excited about the sand and buckets and shovels that he didn't walk out to the water until I took him there. Dylan on the other hand, every time I turned around was taking off for the water and screaming with excitement when the very cold water touched his feet. It made for a very fun, but an exhausting outing to the beach for Mama.

Dylan was telling Mama all about the great sand toys everyone brought with them.

The joys of a recycling bin!

We did some fun things this weekend for Mothers Day and Mama's birthday, but the highlight for the guys was pushing our recycling bins up and down our sidewalk. They found them before we got to put them away in the garage and boy did they LOVE pushing them around. The neighbors came outside to see what all the racket was and stuck around laughing at the entertainment!

Dylan is so excited because he is winning this particular race with Cole!

While Dylan is overwhelmed with visible joy at this activity, Cole takes on a more serious determination to accomplish his goal of pushing the RED recycling bin up and down the sidewalk 87 times. So watch out if you are in his way!

Check out the action!

Beautiful Weekend!

We were all so very happy to FINALLY have a sunny weekend! It actually felt like spring...so we took advantage and spent as much time outside as possible!

We went out to a new Audubon wildlife center and saw lots of stuffed birds and their nests and eggs. Then we went for a walk along their new trails. Here Cole is being so careful looking at the tall grass that he doesn't quite realize he is at the edge of the trail and right after this photo took a nose dive into the grass.

Cole picked up a very special rock (gravel) and carried it with him the entire walk...he would stop every so often and look at it in his hand and admire it.

Mama and her crew!

After the walk and wildlife center we headed back into town for a garden festival...which we spent most of the time playing at the playground next to the festival. We also brought a picnic to eat at Central Park. The best part was when we were cleaning up and Mama was shaking out the picnic blanket!

Dylan spent Sunday morning looking at the paper. We were surprised at how long he spent sitting in the chair at the table looking at this ad for a lawn mower. We sure do have two 'boys' on our hands!

Hmmm....what is this?
I'm thinking...I'm thinking!
Oh yeah! It's a tractor!!
