Visitor!

Last weekend Grammy Carol came for a visit!
The boys were very excited and helped me get the guest room ready. When Grammy Carol arrived Cole started to put on his various costumes to surprise (he would prefer to say scare I'm sure!) Carol with and Dylan offered to carry her bag to the guest room. Those are my boys!

We took Grammy Carol on several bike rides on some of our favorite trails!

She also got to see how much we love our library!

And it seems that we take all our out of town visitors to the Wacky Bounce to see if they will get in on the action.

new year, new bathroom

Last weekend we decided to fix up our small half bath...which we have been intending to do since we moved in our house!!
Here is a shot of the old bathroom...with Rob starting to work on the plumbing.

We decided to replace the sink faucet, the light fixture, the toilet, the back-splash, the floor, the paint on the cabinets, the paint on one wall, the towel rod, and the trim along the floor.
And voila!

This weekend was Rob's birthday and we celebrated with yummy carrot cake! And no we didn't eat cake for breakfast...but the boys didn't change out of their pajamas until late afternoon!!

Mom and Dad got to go out to dinner and a movie while the boys were spending time with Grandma and Grandpa. The boys asked to spend the 'whole' night at Grandma and Grandpa's house...they specifically said "Mom, don't come and get us after we are asleep at Grandma and Grandpa's...we want to spend the whole night there, while you and Dad stay at home!"
So the boys had their first sleep over and Mom and Dad got to sleep in together for the first time since the boys were born!! Best birthday gift EVER!!

A little fun in the snow

Since it doesn't snow much here in the valley the other day we headed up to Marys Peak to play in the white cold stuff.

We found this perfect small hill to play on.

The boys discovered how fun sledding can be!

Dad was on the sidelines to keep them going straight, while mom was down at the bottom to catch them zooming by.

Can't wait to go back!!

San Juan Islands

We just got back from visiting Nana's new home in the San Juan Islands!
The boys were so excited to ride the ferry over to Lopez Island to visit Nana.

It was a bit nippy out there on the deck...and windy!!

If you get down real low the wind is not quite as bad!

We spent the rest of the ferry ride inside the main cabin before driving our car off the boat onto the island.

It was very cold and even snowed on the islands. Still we had to get out and check out the scenery...and beautiful sunsets.
We tried to check out this beautiful beach but the wind was so strong and FREEZING that none of us could stand it more than a minute.
We took another ferry to San Juan Island and checked out Friday Harbor. We really enjoyed the whale museum and the coffee shop where we stopped in for some hot chocolate.
We stayed nice and cozy in Nana's new abode and got to read lots of stories together!!!
