Fun with Grammy Carol & Auntie Lesley

We had some great visitors this past weekend...Grammy Carol and Auntie Lesley came for a visit! We all had fun going to local parks/playgrounds, story time at the library, watching a kinetic sculpture race and going to the pool! We sure did fit in a ton of fun!!

Here Grammy Carol and Dylan are walking to a playground after feeding our favorite ducks.

Mama and Cole among the ducks and geese.
Auntie Lesley taking a spin with the double wide during the kinetic sculpture race.
They guys made sure to take advantage of extra family members in the house...especially by asking to for stories and (demanding at times!) to be picked up and carried around. Here Auntie Lesley and Dylan are reading about trucks.

And Grammy Carol too was convinced (not hard to do!) to sit and read stories...

Auntie Lesley and Cole walking to the car after story time at the library. They guys LOVED being able to hold Grammy and Lesley's hands when we would go out...they usually have to be in the stroller when it's just Mama (Mama's not brave or fast enough to walk around downtown with the guys by herself!)
Cole at the playground.

The guys had fun showing off how they love to take their bath outside in the pool. Mama fills up the pool with the warm water from all the hoses in the yard and the guys have a blast. The only trick is to keep them away from grabbing handfuls of dirt from the potted plants and putting in the pool/bath...we have had to 'start over' with bath time several times!

Evening tea time.

Daddy's shirts

The guys got into Daddy's closet this afternoon and happened to find his brightest, most colorful shirts...then of course they had to wear them around the house!
Cole is so happy to be wearing Daddy's clothes!

Cool Ride

We took the guys out for a spin around the neighborhood in their GoZo stroller before bath time. Check out the fashion statement...rubber boots, sun glasses, hats, and for Dylan...no pants!

Cole is very serious about sittin' back, enjoying the ride and checkin' out the scenery.

The other morning Mama got up after all the boys, only to find that she had missed out on a baking soda party in the kitchen, dining room, part of the living room and hall! But she ended up being the clean up crew!

Teddy Bear Picnics & Cute boy haircuts!

The Corvallis Library just had their annual Teddy Bear Picnic. There were friends and fun music and teddy bear stories...and a surprise visit from Curious George (they don't know who he is and were somewhat apprehensive of a human sized, big headed monkey!). The picnic was in Central Park and just a block from Daddy's work!

Mama is getting faster at this little boy hair cut thing...

The guys are generally amenable to the whole idea...especially if Mama puts a video on the computer for them to watch!

Now one of the guys favorite things to do is take handfuls of soil out of the potted herbs...here is a quick demonstration of how much fun they have doing this activity.

Summer Fun

The boys are really settling into summer. They LOVE going around without clothes on...outside we insist they at least wear shorts, and they love playing and eating outside. This past weekend we moved their little table and chairs out on the deck for dinner. They couldn't believe how much fun it was to munch on their corn on the cob and then get up from the table and run around!
Despite loving their small chairs they always want to do what Mom and Dad are doing...not that we sit in them like they do!

They were just feeding each other banana molasses cookies.

Our little cookie monster!

The guys like playing 'ring around the rosie'. Dylan, who is often our rule enforcer, takes it upon himself to make sure Cole goes 'down' at that part of the song.

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Father's Day!

To celebrate how GREAT our daddy is we all decided to head out to the 'Enchanted Forest' for the day. We got to see story book land with all the characters we know from our books...like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Here the guys are peeking into the dwarfs home to see who is inside! We kept having to pull them off to the side so other kids could look in the door...but as soon as the other kids were done (or when the guys thought the other kids alloted time was over) they went right back to peek in the door and windows. I think they liked seeing the little animated character inside who was sweeping!

They were big enough to go on one of the rides...a train!

Dylan is making his train noises!

Daddy and Mommy also took the guys down the slide at the 'Little Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe' slide. They kept wanting to go again and again!

The gang hanging out snacking on French fries! Yummy!!

Spring Time Flowers

Even though it has been weeks of cloudy gray skies with highs only in the 60's our flowers are starting to bloom in the garden.

The guys decided to take their brooms outside and sweep the little walking trails that Mom and Dad made especially for them in the flower gardens. They pushed around the freshly laid bark mulch that Mom and Dad just spent hours getting and spreading! In this picture Cole is determined that the path should go through the nice white flowers. And he is still determined that the path should go there since he walks over those flowers EVERY time he is outside.

Cole is concentrating on his sweeping moves.

Dylan is posing for the camera while sitting on a little bench that Daddy made for them...broom in hand.

Our cuties!
They were holding hands but let go just as I took the picture.
